East Liverpool, Ohio- Josephine Braunstein, 97, formerly of Sprucevale Road passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 6:50 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center following a lengthy illness.
Born January 23rd, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Rosario and Rose Maiolo. Josephine grew up in the Pittsburgh area then moved to Detroit, Michigan after her marriage. She later moved to East Liverpool with her family in 1994.
While in Detroit, she was employed with K-Mart, and later worked at Allegheny General Hospital. During WWII she worked in a factory spraying enamel on pots and pans. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parrish at St. Aloysius Church in East Liverpool, Ohio.
She leaves behind one daughter, Rosemary Braunstein of Calcutta, Ohio; and two sons, Charles Braunstein and his wife, Fran of Calcutta, Ohio and Russell Braunstein and his wife, Dani of Calcutta, Ohio.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary and Elia; and four brothers, Anthony, Russell, Dominic and Frank.
Friends may visit the family on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Fr. Leo Wehrlin of the church will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
