Josephine Isabelle “Kathleen” Kirby, 97

SEBRING – Josephine Isabelle “Kathleen” Kirby, of Crandall Medical Center, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, following a lengthy illness. She was 97.

Born in Millfield, Ohio, November 25, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth Mayle Sams. A registered nurse, she worked at the East Liverpool City Hospital for many years as well as the former Osteopathic Hospital. She also owned and operated the former Ingram’s Nursing Home in East Liverpool.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at one time.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Brunie, a son, John E. Ingram, a granddaughter as well as two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Gotchall of Salineville, and two sons, Joseph Ingram and his wife, Donna, of Canton, and Greg Rhodes of Lisbon. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A private family service was conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery.
