Obituary for Joyce Louise Rose (Goodwin)

JOYCE LOUISE ROSE, 87

EAST LIVERPOOL – East Liverpool resident Joyce Louise Rose passed with her family by her side at her home on Martin Avenue Friday afternoon at 1:54 p.m., June 9, 2017. She was 87.

A daughter of the late Kenneth and Christina Nelson Goodwin, she was born in Stoneham, MA, on December 6, 1929 and came to this area in 1949.

Joyce was employed by the former Sevey’s Pharmacy for 34 years as a bookkeeper, and then she spent 13 years at Catholic Charities as a secretary, retiring at age 80.

She leaves behind her three daughters, Christine McComas, and her husband Johnny, of East Liverpool, Cindy Harris, and her husband Donald, of Chester, Cheryl Camp, and her husband Jeffrey, also of East Liverpool, and a son, Kenneth, and his wife Connie, of Anderson, IN.

Her nine grandchildren also survive, as do her 24 great-grandchildren and her one great-great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1993 by her husband James Rose, whom she married on April 17, 1949. Joyce was also preceded by her stepmother, Mary Manning Goodwin, and a great-grandson Mason Rose.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by her friend Beth Schmitt. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, after which family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
