June M. McVay, 99
EAST LIVERPOOL – June M. McVay, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday evening at her home. She was 99.
Born in East Liverpool, August 28, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Laura Wolfe Merchant. A resident of this area all her life, she worked for Curtis Wright in Pennsylvania and later worked for Ohio Power as a secretary until retiring. June enjoyed bowling, golf, playing bingo and traveling.
She was preceded by her husband, Homer H. “Tuffy” McVay, Jr. She was also preceded in death by a son, Randy McVay, and three sisters, Linda Dayle Gilleard, Lois Maxine Moore, and Dorothy Pauline Merchant.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: a daughter, Carol Hargreaves and her husband, Robert, of Wellsville, and a son, Michael McVay and his wife, Rose, of Lake Tomahawk, as well as three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
