Obituary for Junior "JR" Skinner

Junior R. “JR” Skinner, 88

EAST LIVERPOOL – Junior R. “JR” Skinner, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the Orchards of East Liverpool. He was 88.

Born in Stratton, Ohio, April 13, 1932, he was a son of the late Ray E. and Marie Vanwey Skinner. A lifetime area resident, he worked as a construction electrician for many years where he was a member of the IBEW in Steubenville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. Skinner, on July 29, 2018. The couple married October 11, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary E. Skinner in 1993. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Irene McGraw and Donna Fullerton, as well as three brothers, Dale Skinner, Charles Skinner and Thurl Skinner, a stepdaughter, Beatrice Rood, a stepson, Cletus Glazebrook, and three grandchildren, Andrea Piatt, Frank J. Martin and Beth Ann Uselton.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Piatt of Toronto, and Iris Martin of Empire, along with three stepdaughters, Julie Rowe, and her husband Philip, of East Liverpool, Jill Ramsey, of East Liverpool, and Elaine Kloss, and her husband Kevin, of Columbiana, as well as her three stepsons, Troy Roush, and his wife Jennifer, of Ankeny, Iowa, Harry “Butch” Ramsey, and his wife Angie, of Arlington, Virginia, and William “Bill” Ramsey, and his wife Jennifer, of East Liverpool.

There are 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In compliance with directives from the State of Ohio, private family services will be conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
