Obituary for Lawrence Wilbert Horner

Lawrence W. Horner, 77, of East Liverpool passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.

Lawrence was born in East Liverpool on October 16, 1942 a son of the late Evert and Nettie Horner. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1960. Lawrence retired as a sergeant major from the US Army. He proudly served his country during the Gulf War. He was a member of Beechwood Free Methodist Church, American Legion post 374 and a life member of VFW Post 66 and DAV Chapter 47. Lawrence was a dedicated lifelong Potter fan.

Preceding Lawrence in death were five sisters Dorothy DeLong, Betty Dilworth, Joan Pickins, Hattie Moore and Evelyn Henderson and three brothers Junior, Dana and Gary Horner.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, whom he married August 24, 2002, Linda M. (Brookes) Horner; three daughters Angela Marie Weinhaus and her husband Roger of South Dakota, Tracy Lynn Blair and her husband Tom of Germany and Melissa Coats and her husband Patrick of Chester, WV; son Daniel Bennett and his wife Chris of Columbus, GA; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Lawrence’s memory may be directed to East Liverpool Potters Booster Club, 100 Maine Boulevard, East Liverpool, OH 43920.
