Lester “Bus” Howard Green, 91

EAST LIVERPOOL – Lester “Bus” Howard Green, of Memories of Marie Assisted Living, Toronto, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 20, 2016. He was 91.

Born in Fredericktown, Ohio, May7, 1924, he was a son of the late Howard and Gladys Dailey Green and a life-long area resident. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1942, he was an elder in the Fredericktown Christian Church. He was an employee of Crucible Steel as a bricklayer for 40 years. “Bus” was an avid bowler, a member of the Rainbows End Trailer Club, the Northern Panhandle Travelers Club of Chester, and had been a harmonica player since he was a young man.

“Bus” was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peg” Green on May 4, 1993 and they were married on October 11, 1945.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon “Sherry” Smith, and her husband, Art, of East Liverpool, and his two sons, James L. Green and Robert H. Green, both of East Liverpool. “Bus” is also survived by eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by one sister, Pauline Warrick, of East Liverpool.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Erpenbach, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Green.

Friends may visit Thursday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.
