Obituary for Linda A. Agnew (Davis)

Linda A. Agnew, 74

CALCUTTA – Linda A. Agnew, of Calcutta, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a brief illness. She was 74.

Born in East Palestine, September 22, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Floyd “Hap” and Hilda Levine Davis. A resident of this area all her life, she was a graduate of the East Palestine High School Class of 1964. For many years she was the friendly face in the checkout line at Walmart where she recently retired after 21 years as a cashier. Previously, she worked for AVI for 10 years. Linda loved shopping and dancing but above all things in life she loved her family, especially when she attended their sporting events and school activities.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. “Scooch” Agnew, whom she married July 1, 1969. There are two children, a daughter, Shannon Agnew Blissenbach of Rogers, and a son, Michael W. Agnew and his wife, Julie, of Calcutta, as well as six grandchildren: Michael Agnew, Logan Blissenbach, Ethan Agnew, Braden Blissenbach, Carter Agnew, and Ava Agnew.

She is also survived by a sister, Margie Gilbert and her husband, Jim, of Berlin Center, and a brother, Robert “Bob” Davis and his wife, Carol, of New Waterford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Davis of Texas.

Friends may visit Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 3 to 6 p.m. Fr. Melvin Rusnak will conduct a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are required.
