Obituary for Lois M Smith (Wolfe)

LOIS M. WOLFE SMITH, 78

EAST LIVERPOOL – Mrs. Lois M. Wolfe Smith passed away at the age of 78 at her home on Price Street in East Liverpool, at 2:09 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2015.

She was born in Wellsville on December 14, 1936, a daughter of the late Dana and Elsie Southall Wolfe. A lifetime area resident, she retired in 2000 from the Hall China Company and worked at Smith’s Personal Care Home until 2010.

Lois attended the Destiny House and belonged to a bowling league at one time. She was a very motherly person who could meet people and make them feel as though they were her very own children.

Her husband, Demple L. “Smitty” Smith, survives her at home. They were married in 1966.

In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by six daughters and one son: Susan Huff, Patricia McCutcheon, Laura Marino and Amy Smith, all of East Liverpool; Jamie Cox and her husband, Bill, of Glenmoor; Cortney Smith, also of East Liverpool; and Bill O’Rourke of Newell, WV.

There are 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Lois was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas O’Rourke and Dennis L. O’Rourke, as well as two sisters and five brothers.

Services will take place at the Dawson Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Monday with Pastor Cody Berry.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Lois will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
