Obituary for Loretta M. Montgomery (Alford)

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Loretta M. Montgomery, 92, of East Liverpool passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Loretta was born in East Liverpool on December 14, 1927. She was a member of Northside Community Church. She retired from Homer Laughlin in 1990 where she worked as a ware inspector and from Walmart in 2001where she worked in the crafts and fabrics department. She was a loving wife, mom and grandma. Loretta enjoyed doing word search puzzles in her spare time.

Preceding Loretta in death were her father Paul Alford, Sr.; mother Minnie A. (Taylor) Alford McKenzie; three sisters Mary Kireta, Verla Swoger and Frances Saltsman and four brothers Kenneth, George, Jerry and Paul Alford, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 72 years, whom she married April 20, 1948, Jim Montgomery; two sons Jim Montgomery and his wife Stephanie of Broken Arrow, OK and Mark Montgomery and his wife Karen of East Liverpool; daughter Paula Adkins and her husband Terry of East Liverpool, two sisters Gloria Landfried of East Liverpool and Phyllis Trainer of East Liverpool; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A private service was held for the family at the Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Rose of Northside Community Church officiating. Burial in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
