Obituary for Marceline Bennett
East Liverpool, Ohio- Marceline L. Bennett, 84, of the Y & O Road passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 7:00 a.m. at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Born December 19, 1937 in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Alice Christen Phelps. A lifetime area resident, she had retired from the East Liverpool City School System as a cafeteria worker.
Methodist by faith, Marceline was a Lifetime member of the VFW Post #66 and was a past president of the Daughters of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Bennett, whom she married October 7, 1971, on September 15, 2011.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Marie Reckner and her husband, Randy of Salem, Ohio, Donna Bennett and her companion, D. Griffith of East Liverpool and Sandra Wooten and her husband, Bernard of East Liverpool; and three sons, James Adkins and his wife, Jannetta of Portsmouth, Virginia, Robert Adkins of East Liverpool and Gregory Adkins and his companion, Connie Taylor of East Liverpool.
There are several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Lee Maple of Banning, California.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jean Denning; and one brother, Franklin Levi Phelps.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
The Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of all local arrangements.
