Obituary for Margaret Hope DiPasquale (Colledge)

MARGARET SEIBERT DiPASQUALE, 94

EAST LIVERPOOL – Margaret Colledge Seibert DiPasquale passed away peacefully Monday evening, March 21, 2016 at the Calcutta Health Care Center. Margaret had been a longtime resident of Hill Boulevard in East Liverpool and had been in failing health recently. She was 94.

Born at home in Falls Creek, PA on August 21, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Anna Rose Myers Colledge and John McCarrol Colledge. She came to this area with her family in 1928, and soon became a member of First Church of Christ (Disciples). A 1939 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Margaret remained in East Liverpool for most of her life.

She married Kenneth M. Seibert in 1941; they lived across the country together while he was in the service, and that instilled in her a lifelong love of traveling. He passed away in 1964, leaving Margaret with a young family. On September 24, 1966, she married Patsy M. DiPasquale, who preceded her in death on July 15, 1996.

For many years, she was the owner and operator of Margaret’s Beauty Shop. When she wasn’t busy in her shop, Margaret loved the game of golf – playing her last round at the age of 90. She was active in the Women’s Leagues at the East Liverpool Country Club and Beaver Meadows Golf Course, and was also a member of the Lady Knights of Columbus and the Quota Club. For over twenty years, Margaret repaired books at the Carnegie Public Library in her spare time. Her family will remember her love of reading – how no one could ever beat her at Scrabble – and the importance she placed on “speaking the King’s English in the way it was meant to be spoken.”

Surviving her are two daughters, Amy Clause and her husband, Dan, of Phoenix, AZ, and Donna Seibert, with whom she resided. There are three sons: Donald M. Seibert and his wife, Dorothy, of Tucson, AZ; Joel S. Seibert and his wife, Deborah, of Los Angeles; and Richard A. Seibert and his wife, Karen, of Wellsville. She also leaves behind 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

When Margaret married Patsy in 1966, she loved blending the two families together, and leaves behind her stepchildren: John DiPasquale and his wife, Janice; Patricia Alloway and her husband, Ray; Mike DiPasquale and his wife, Diane; and Deann Kight and her husband, Brent.

Margaret is also survived by her sisters, Eloise Ewing and Von Gail Hamilton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Colledge.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will take place at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 a.m., with Margaret’s grandson Jason Locke officiating. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park, after which time friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of fellowship.

Those wishing to do so may send gifts in Margaret’s name to the Carnegie Public Library, 219 East Fourth Street, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
