SALEM, OHIO – Margaret A. “Maggie” Leggett, 91, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Auburn Skilled Nursing Home in Salem.
Margaret was born in Freeport, Ohio on October 2, 1929. She retired in 1989 after forty years of service working at Riverview Florist and Bob and Robins.
Margaret was a member of the Wesleyan Community Church Assembly of God where she served as a Sunday School teacher, took attendance, ordered supplies and helped count offering. in East Liverpool. She was a member of Retired Volunteer Persons, Red Cross of Lisbon, Salvation Army and helped with the Lisbon Food Bank.
Preceding Margaret in death were her husband, whom she married January 24, 1949, Harold “Pete” Leggett; son Jim Leggett; twin sons Jerry and Gerry Leggett; father Vern Stevens; mother Edith Mable (Lee) Hewitt; brother Kenneth Clark Stevens; three sisters Ruth Mary Pelley, Janet Lee Ankrom and Doris Lightner and half-brother Roger Stevens.
Left to cherish her memory are three sons Harold “Roy” Leggett and his wife Barbara of Louisville, KY, William “Bill” Leggett and his wife Tammy of Lisbon and Steven Leggett of Lisbon; daughter Barbara Ann Keefer and her husband Jeff of Newport News, VA; two brothers Walter F. Stevens of Clarksville, TN and Donald D. Stevens of Stonecreek, OH; sister Elizabeth Jane Moreland of Minerva, OH and five half-sisters Joyce Mangus, Shirley Lewis, Evelyn Stevens, Bertha Jones and Patricia Cantrell; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A private committal service was held at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home.
