Obituary for Marilyn Jayne Loveland (Swogger)

Marilyn “Jayne” Swogger Loveland, 60

WASHINGTON, PA – Marilyn “Jayne” Swogger Loveland, 60, of Washington, PA, formerly of Brownsville, PA, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 following a brief battle with cancer.

Born April 21, 1955 in Circleville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Joyce Kreisel Swogger. As a young girl, she moved with her family to this area, where she was a 1973 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

Jayne belonged to the St. Peter’s Historical Catholic Church in Brownsville, PA. She worked as the Mental Health Coordinator for Crosskeys Human Services in Brownsville for the past 33 years where she showed compassion and the will to help others, and was still working at the time of her death.

Those who knew her best remember her as a free spirit who celebrated life. She was completely selfless, enjoyed camping and traveling -especially to the beaches of Jamaica. She was dedicated to her family and adored her grandchildren.

Surviving are her two children: daughter, Melissa Loveland, of Carnegie, PA, and son, Chris Loveland, and his wife, Heather, of Southpark, PA, as well as her two loving grandchildren: Cameron and Caden. Jayne was cherished by two sisters and a brother: Cindy Waggle, and her husband, David, of East Liverpool; Sandy Long, and her husband, David, of Wellsville; and Bob Swogger, and his wife, Joyce, also of Wellsville.

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, Jayne’s family will receive friends at the Dawson Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Friends and family will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
