Obituary for Marsha H. Coukart (Matesic)

Marsha H. Coukart, 73

EAST LIVERPOOL – Marsha H. Coukart, of Lori Lane, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman. She was 73.

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, February 11, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Edward “Dick” and Rose Mazelon Matesic. A graduate of Martins Ferry High School, she attended business school and worked for the Belmont County Clerk of Courts at one time. While living in Castalia, Ohio, Marsha worked at Margaretta High School.

A member of Holy Trinity Parish, she lived in this area since 1988.

She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Coukart, whom she married September 23, 1966. A son survives as well, Michael Coukart and his wife, Lori, of Columbus, along with three grandchildren: Brynna, Cassady and McKenna Coukart.

She is also survived by two sisters, Brenda McGrew and her husband, Dan, of Wheeling, and Kathy Kavage and her husband, Larry, of Grove City, Ohio, as well as a sister-in-law, Kathy Matesic of Martins Ferry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Joseph “Rick” Coukart, and a brother, Richard “Dick” Matesic.

Fr. Peter Haladej will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church. Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling.
