Obituary for Chip Schell

Marvin E. “Chip” Schell, 72

EAST LIVERPOOL – Marvin E. “Chip” Schell, of Carlisle Road, passed away Thursday evening, May 11, 2023, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. He was 72.

Born in East Liverpool, March 2, 1951, he was a son of the late Elmer E. and Phyllis L. Lewis Schell. A resident of this area all his life, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1969. He attended Kent State University and then began his career in construction. He was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America Local 833. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Paula M. Jackson Schell, at home. The couple married April 14, 2000. He also leaves behind two daughters, Ashley Kinsey and her husband, Nathaniel, of East Liverpool, and Mallory Wines and her husband, Joey, of East Liverpool, and a son, Jason Cunningham and his wife, Rachel, of Mechanicstown. There are six grandchildren: Mason and Hudson Kinsey, Luca and Livia Wines, and Remmi and Merrett Cunningham. He is also survived by a sister, Debbe Snow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jan L. Schell.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Fr. Leo Wehrlin of Holy Trinity Parish will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
