Obituary for Mary Ellen Cain (Dickey)

Mary Ellen Dickey Cain, 74, of East Liverpool, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born in East Liverpool, on August 17, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret McSweeney Dickey.

A 1960 graduate of East Liverpool High School, Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was a security guard at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort having last worked in 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Billy Jo Schwalbach, and her husband James, of Gahanna, Ohio, and her son Michael Charles Cain, of Chester. There are two grandchildren, Karry Jo and Ellen Schwalbach.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded by her husband William Edward Cain on June 10, 2006. They were married on March 2, 1968.

Father Peter Haladej of Holy Trinity Parish will preside at a memorial service on Tuesday at 12:00 noon at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery.
