EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Mary Jane Fone, 94, of Lisbon passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at East Liverpool City Hospital.
Mary Jane was born in East Liverpool on May 19, 1926 a daughter of the late William and Mary E. (Cassidy) Curran. She was a member of Columbiana County 8 & 40 and the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. Mary Jane was Chapeau of American Legion Post 374 Women’s Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Secretaries Association where she was named Secretary of the Year.
She worked as a secretary at Hunes and was “mom” and secretary at M&M Vending. Mary Jane was a former director of the Ceramic City Senior Citizen Center.
Preceding Mary Jane in death were her husband, whom she married June 11, 1946, George A. Fone; daughter Mary Beth Galloway; grandson Frank Flaherty, Jr. and sister Lois Burdick.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Terri Wooten and her husband Jesse, Sr. of East Liverpool; four grandchildren Richard Galloway, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Youngstown, Dr. Gretchen Nickell and her husband Duane of Lisbon and Jesse Wooten, Jr. and his wife Misty of Van Vleck, TX; four great grandchildren Dalton Nickell, Heath Nickell, Dana Flaherty and Brianne Flaherty; son-in-law, with whom she resided, Richard Galloway, Sr. of Lisbon; nephew William Burdick and his wife Ginny of Pearland, TX and granddaughter-in-law Gloria Flaherty of East Liverpool.
A private memorial mass was held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home.
