Myrtle E. “Dodie” Jackson Dobronz, 92

SALEM, OHIO - Myrtle E. “Dodie” Jackson Dobronz, of Salem, formerly of Guilford Lake and East Liverpool, passed away Saturday evening, February 20, 2016 at the Blossom Nursing Home. She was 92.

Born in East Liverpool in the Klondyke neighborhood, August 4, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Winifred Mays Jackson. She worked as a ware dresser in Edwin M. Knowles Pottery and Homer Laughlin China and later, along with her husband, co-managed the West Chateau Apartments in Cleveland where they retired in 1987. She attended the Rogers Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Dobronz, on September 26, 1999. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John W. Jackson and Joseph Jackson, as well as a sister Donna Jean Beaver.

Surviving are a daughter, Vicky Oesch and her husband, Larry, of Salem, a son, Robert T. Dawson, Sr. of East Liverpool, and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Three brothers survive: Frank Jackson of Tucson, Arizona, Paul W. Jackson, Sr. and his wife, Virginia, of Calcutta, and Thomas Jackson and his wife, Becky, of Montevallo, Alabama.

Pastor Paul Wright will conduct a funeral service Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
