Obituary for Nancy Jane Welling (Sayre)
East Liverpool, Ohio- Nancy J. Welling, 57, of Lemon Street passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 6:14 pm at UPMC – Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania following a lengthy illness.
Born January 11, 1963 at East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Cecil “Jack” and Eleanor Rose Boley Sayre. A lifetime area resident, most recently she was a fourth grade teacher at LaCroft Elementery School, while working for more than thirty years in the school system.
A graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1981 and Kent State University, she belonged to the former Penn Avenue Methodist Church in East End. She was also a member of Job’s Daughters and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy R. Welling at home; and one son, Eric M. Welling at home. She leaves behind three brothers, Paul Sayre and his wife, Kathy of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Ken Sayre of East Liverpool and Jim Sayre of Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, David Sayre.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Reverend John Smith will conduct a funeral service at 2:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Immediately following the service family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center.
