Obituary for Neil W. Patterson
EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Neil W. Patterson, 90, of East Liverpool passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Calcutta Health Care Center.
Neil was born in Winona, Ohio on December 6, 1930 a son of the late Brent B. and Lorena (Kibler) Patterson. He worked at Crucible Steel for 16 years then later retired in 1985 after working 16 years as an over the road truck driver. He was a veteran of the Marines proudly serving during the Korean Conflict from 1951 – 1953. Neil loved going to yard sales and made a promise to his wife not to bring one thing home. He also enjoyed driving his golf cart. Neil was a great storyteller and loved sharing his stories of his service in Korean and truck driving. He was known for going on long drives.
Preceding Neil in death were his former wife Nancy L. Patterson and brother William B. Patterson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, whom he married April 12, 2003, Jackie D. Patterson; four daughters Gerry Sue Sanchez and her husband Steve of Beaver, PA, Clara Ann Easterday and her husband Bruce of Wellsville, Ethel Marie Miller and her husband Ronald of Negley, OH and Amanda Lynn Campbell and her husband Clyde of Mineral Ridge, OH; two step daughters Donna Saling and her husband Larry of East Liverpool and Lisa Morris and her husband Fred of East Liverpool; step son John Shields and his companion Julie of East Liverpool; sixteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and his furry friend China.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Tuesday where the family will be present from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Brother Ronald Boyd will conduct a service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
