Noel Edward Dawson, Sr., 80
EAST LIVERPOOL - Noel Edward Dawson, Sr., of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a long illness. He was 80.
Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, September 7, 1939, he was a son of the late Simeon Arctus Dawson and Leota Curry Dawson. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was an insurance sales agent for many years. Later he owned and operated Center Lanes Bowling Alley in Center Township. Ed loved people and enjoyed selling items at the Roger’s Community Auction.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Barton Dawson, at home. He is also survived by his three children: a daughter, Paula Renee Dawson of East Liverpool, and two sons, Noel Edward Dawson, Jr. and his wife, Melanie, of East Liverpool, and William Dawson and his wife, Kelly, of McMurray, Pennsylvania. There are four grandchildren: Noel Edward Dawson, III and his wife, Steffie, Courtney Jaye Dawson and her husband, Justin Bell, Lance Robert Dawson and his wife, Stephanie, and Brian Paul Dawson and his fiancée, Francesca Sampogna; as well as three great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Elizabeth Dawson, Kayleigh Morgan Dawson and Robert Noel Dawson and a fourth great-grandchild expected in May.
Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy Romeo and Linda Garvey, and a brother, Gary Dawson and their families.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Tselepis.
Arrangements have been completed by the Dawson Funeral Home.
