RUSSELL BLOSSER, 64

WELLSVILLE – Lifetime area resident Russell Blosser, of Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Russ, as he was known to his family and friends, had been taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown earlier in the day after becoming ill at home and died at 1:39 p.m.

A son of the late Ira and Virginia Sarson Blosser, he was born in East Liverpool on August 3, 1951. A 1970 graduate of Wellsville High School, Russ went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Kent State University. For several years, he worked as the Assistant Director of Public Relations at East Liverpool City Hospital. Russ was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Russ was married to the former Brenda Gadd on August 20, 1978. Together, they enjoyed photography, bird watching, travel, family history, and Russ enjoyed organic gardening. He was kind by nature and always took a keen interest in the lives of others. Brenda survives him at home.

Additional survivors include two sisters and two brothers: Rosemary Byers of Wellsville; Norma Freeman of East Liverpool; Ernest Blosser and his wife, Bonnie of Lisbon; and Larry Blosser and his wife, Linden, of Apple Grove, OH. A sister-in-law, Beverly Gadd Miller and her husband, Gary, also survive, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday.

Pastor Loren Seibold will officiate at services to be held at the funeral home at 1:30 pm on Thursday. Burial will take place at Calcutta Cemetery. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
