Obituary for Norman P. Mattern
EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Norman P. “Norm” Mattern, 60, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.
Norm was born in East Liverpool on August 27, 1960. He was a graduate of Beaver Local High School and attended Kent State University. Norm enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing softball. He was a happy person who was always smiling and was an inspiration to everyone. Norm was concerned about the well-being of others and if someone wasn’t doing well, he would tell them that he would “Talk to the Big Guy upstairs” because he had a direct line to Him.
Preceding Norm in death were his father Norman E. Mattern; paternal grandparents Howard and Thelma Mattern and maternal grandparents Lester and Anna White.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Naomi Ann (White) Mattern of East Liverpool; two sisters Connie Benton and her husband Robert of Allentown, PA and Vicky Souders of Cincinnati, OH; two nieces Natalie Reed and her husband Eric of East Liverpool and Summer Gordon and her husband Eric of Columbus, OH; nephew Erik Souders and his wife Tia of Andover, OH and many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and extended family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the exceptional care Norm received from all of his caregivers who became an extended part of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Norm may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
