NAVARRE, OHIO – Patricia E. “Pat” Harris, 93, of Navarre. Ohio formerly of East Liverpool passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Altercare Navarre.
Pat was born in Wellsville in her grandmother’s home on December 25, 1928.
Patricia attended school in Wellsville and East Liverpool before WW2 called her step-father, Herbert Willis, to Walla Walla, Washington to serve in the Air Force. Her step father was reassigned to the airbase in Ephrata, Washington where she concluded her High School education. She lettered in tennis and as many young people proudly served as a volunteer in the American Red Cross. One of her responsibilities was to read and write letters for the wounded veterans. When her step-father was discharged the family returned to East Liverpool. For ten years she worked for the S.C. Williams Co. She became a full-time mother and homemaker after birth of their son. She enjoyed decorating her home, cooking fabulous meals, floral gardening, and being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a member of the former Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church until the church closed and transferred her membership to the Anderson UMC. During the last eleven years she related to the Dueber United Methodist Church in Canton, Ohio. Pat served as Sunday School teacher, President of the United Methodist Women, member of the Miriam Circle, altar guild, Administrative Board member, and the Pastor Parish Relations Committee.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Chester Harris; their daughter Lisa Ann Harris; her father Richard Harris; her mother Blanche V. (Thornhill) Willis and Herbert Willis step-father.
Remaining family members to cherish her memory are her son Rev. Dr. Chester Harris and his wife Barbara of Navarre, OH; three grandchildren Rev. Melanie Fierbaugh and her husband Cory of Athens, TX, Sean Harris and his wife Joy of Canton, OH and Brent Harris and his wife Debbie of Canton, OH and eight great grandchildren Aidan Fierbaugh, Benjamin Fierbaugh, Liam Fierbaugh, Wesley Harris, Emma Kelly-Harris, Adalynn Harris, Chloe Harris and Delani Harris.
Friends may visit Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 10:00AM prior to the funeral service. Rev. Dr. Chester Harris, her son and Rev. Melanie Fierbaugh, her granddaughter, will conduct a funeral service Thursday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Riverview Cemetery.
Immediately following the committal service a time of fellowship will be held at the Dawson Family Center.
