Salineville, Ohio- Paul Alford, Jr., 81, of East Main Street passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Allegheny General Hospital at 10:30 a.m. following a brief illness.
Born August 4, 1938 at East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Paul Alford, Sr. and also of the late Minnie A. Taylor Alford McKenzie.
He was a retired truck driver working for BOC in Newell, West Virginia, prior to that he was the owner/operator of his own trucking company. A veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany, he was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys L. Higgins Alford, whom he married September 27, 1958, at home.
There are two daughters, Paula Moore and her husband, William of Hanoverton, Ohio, and Beth Butler and her husband, Charles of Salineville.
In addition he is survived by nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and three sisters.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two children; two grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.
Friends may visit the family on Friday from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Pastor Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church will officiate a funeral service on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors.
Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.
