Obituary for Pearl Helen Capraruolo (Youst)
WELLSVILLE, OHIO – Pearl H. Capraruolo, 97, a longtime resident of Thompson Avenue in East Liverpool passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her daughter’s home.
Pearl was born in Manoun, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1922 a daughter of the late Frank J. and Helen (Ryniewicz) Youst.
Pearl came to East Liverpool with her family just after the flood of 1936 in Western Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School class of 1942 and went to Ohio Valley Business College on the G.I. Bill. Pearl was a veteran of the US Marine Corp honorably serving during WW II as a corporal in the Women’s Reserve from 1943 – 1945. After her service in the Marines she worked at Ogilvie's in the giftware department and later became a sportswear buyer.
Pearl was a member of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius since the mid 1930’s. She was an active member of the church serving on the Altar and Rosary Society. Pearl truly cared for the church and its many activities. She was also a member of the Olde Guard.
Pearl loved traveling with her late husband Sam after his retirement. She also loved taking care of her family, always involved with their many activities.
Preceding Pearl in death were her husband, whom she married October 11, 1947, Salvatore R. “Sam” Capraruolo; son Vincent Capraruolo; sister Dolly Smith and two brothers Frank Youst and George Youst.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Mary Helen Kinsey and her husband Ted of Wellsville; son John “Butch” Capraruolo and his wife Kate of East Liverpool; daughter-in-law Pam Capraruolo of Poland, OH; six grandchildren Andrew Capraruolo, Mara Meehan and her husband Jeff, Sara Capraruolo Price and her husband Joe, Ted Kinsey II and his wife Jill, Jessica Kinsey and Andrea Krushinski and her husband Brad; 14 great grandchildren; sister Marie Graham of Chester; sisters-in-law Shirley Youst of Plymouth, IN and Lucy Beerer of Escandito, CA and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Fr. Scott Kopp as celebrant. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Tri State Veterans Burial Group will perform military honors at the cemetery.
Immediately following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
