Obituary for Peggy Bloor

Peggy L. Call Bloor, 88

EAST LIVERPOOL – Peggy L. Call Bloor, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday morning, March 4, 2023, at the Calcutta Healthcare Center. She was 88.

Born in Wellsville, December 24, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Elmer S. “Ike” Call and Martha E. Baker Call. A lifetime area resident and member of the Wellsville High School Class of 1953, she worked at Ogilvies, Smith and Phillips and as a bookkeeper for Harry Bergener’s gas station where she met her husband. She would later retire from East Liverpool Schools after 25 years of service.

A member of the First United Methodist Church since 1957, she was active in the FISH program, the Crusader’s Sunday School Class and the Susannah Wesley Circle. She helped with countless church dinners and events.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Robert “Bob” Bloor, who died April 26, 2014. The couple married February 14, 1957. She was also preceded by a daughter, Jenny Bloor, her stepmother, Dorothy Call and a brother, John E. “Jack” Call.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Jeff Bloor and his wife, Cyndi, and David Bloor, all of East Liverpool. There are four grandchildren: Scott Bloor, Jarrod Bloor (Kristen), Ashton Bloor and Marie Taylor, as well as four great-grandchildren Leini Bloor, Jackie Van Horn (Josh), Katie Dalrymple (Tylar) and Hayden Kraska, and four great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two special nieces, Lori and Jonna Call, as well as many other nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Rosalie Call and Mary Lou Heidel, and a brother-in-law Robert Skidmore. She also leaves her beloved dog, Benjamin.

Pastor Steve Knisely and Judy Kidder will conduct a funeral service Tuesday, March 14th, at 5:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the East Liverpool Elks Lodge.
