Obituary for Peter D. Visnic

Peter D. Visnic, 74

EAST LIVERPOOL – Peter D. Visnic, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 74.

Born in Steubenville, August 17, 1946, he was a son of the late George and Clara Smith Visnic. A member of the Steubenville High School Class of 1964, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He returned home and worked while continuing his education at the University of Steubenville where he earned his degree in accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant, and his career would eventually bring him to East Liverpool where he worked at Crable Auditing and became a partner of Crable, Miller and Visnic.

Pete was a history buff, loved movies and was an avid Steelers fan. Above all other things in life, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Moffat Visnic. The couple married October 3, 1965. There are two daughters, Sandy Hutchman and her husband, Bill, of East Liverpool, and Michelle Wilcox and her husband, Joe, of Salem. He was “Jeda” to his four loving grandchildren: Lacey Hutchman, Mason Hutchman, Ben Wilcox and Adam Wilcox.

In addition, he is survived by a brother, Dewey Visnic and his wife, Diane, of Arizona.

Pastor Steve Knisely of the First United Methodist Church will conduct a private family service at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Steubenville.
