Obituary for Phoebe Sara Giambroni (Burbridge)

East Liverpool, Ohio- Phoebe S. Giambroni, 93, of Eagle Drive passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 following a brief illness.

Born February 21, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George and Helen Ketchum Burbridge. She spent most of her life in East Liverpool. After attending St. Aloysius Catholic School, she went on to graduate from the Villa Maria Academy in Youngstown, Ohio and then earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio. She taught in the Cleveland schools for several years before returning to East Liverpool and opening a kindergarten school in her parents home on Pennsylvania Avenue. She was later hired as a first-grade teacher in the East Liverpool school system retiring in 1985 after 20 years. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in East Liverpool.

On April 11, 2007 she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Giambroni, whom she married April 12, 1950. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Myers and her husband, Dan of Anniston, Alabama, and Lisa Morgan and her husband, Dave of East Liverpool; and four sons, Mike Giambroni and his wife, Kathy of East Liverpool, Andy Giambroni and his wife, Dana of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, Tom Giambroni and his wife, Linda of Rogers, Ohio and Dennis Giambroni and his wife, Sue of East Liverpool.

There are 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Kolman.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Fr. Peter Haladej of Blessed Sacrament will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church.

Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.

The family requests contributions be made to either Hospice of the Valley at 9803 Sharrott Road in Poland, Ohio 44514 or to the Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool, Ohio.
