Phyllis G. Ambrose, 77
EAST LIVERPOOL – Phyllis G. “Becky” Ambrose, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was 77.
Born in Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania, December 22, 1942, she was a daughter of the late David and Elsie Ambrose Mottin. A resident of this area most of her life, she attended Avondale Baptist Church and was a life-member and past president of the VFW Post 66 Auxiliary. She worked at Homer Laughlin China at one time and retired as a nurse’s aide. For many years, she was a foster mother to many inner-city children through the Youth Advocate Program.
She is survived by a daughter, Robin Lynn Bundy and her husband, Randy, of East Liverpool, and a son, Teddy L. Ambrose of East Liverpool, as well as two grandchildren, Emily Allmon and Eric L. Lillie and his wife, Ashley, and three great-grandchild, James Allmon, IV, Landon Adkins and Gavin Lillie.
She is also survived by six brothers and sisters, Louise Melott, David Mottin, Dora Keilman and her husband, Jeff, Peggy Rager and her husband, Ken, William Mottin and his wife, Joy, and Brian Mottin, as well as five nieces, and ten great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Ambrose, a brother-in-law Bill Melott, a nephew Joshua Mottin, and a great-nephew Caleb Radcliffe.
Pastor Terry Weyand will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are required.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
