REID ORMAND DENSMORE, JR., 64

SALEM – Reid Ormand “Denny” Densmore, Jr., of Rt. 30 in Minerva, passed away at the age of 64 on Friday afternoon, February 10, 2017 at the Salem Regional Medical Center of a lengthy illness.

Born in East Liverpool on September 22, 1952 to the late Reid and Edna Viola Silverthorn Densmore, he graduated from East Liverpool High School, “Denny” then received his Associates Degree from Kent State University.

He had worked at J & L Steel, as well as Georgia Pacific in their maintenance departments, but his real love was helping other family members build their homes on Densmore Avenue.

A very avid Steeler fan, Reid also enjoyed the years he was associated with the LaCroft Nazarene Church softball team.

Surviving him is his daughter, Jessica Stewart and her husband, Justin, of Kent, and a son, James Densmore of Minerva, as well as their mother, Tanya Densmore, of Wellsville. Reid’s wife Malynda Densmore resides in Toledo, Ohio.

Reid also leaves behind two sisters: Denise Duck, of Wellsville, and Melissa Rich, and her husband Dan, of Florrisant, MO. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Densmore, and his wife Jeanne, of Kissimmee, FL.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.
