Obituary for Richard R Heddleston Jr.

RICHARD R. HEDDLESTON, JR., 70

POLAND, OH – Richard R. Heddleston, Jr., 70, passed away with his family surrounding him at the Hospice House in Poland on Tuesday evening, March 1, 2016. Formerly of East Liverpool, he had lived most recently in the Austintown area.

Born in East Liverpool on September 30, 1945, he was a son of the late Richard R. Heddleston, Sr. and Aniela “Nellie” Ksciuk Heddleston. He was a 1963 graduate of East Liverpool High School, where he had been a member of the football and baseball teams. He continued his education at Ohio University, majoring in Accounting and Economics.

On December 2, 1967, he married Rosalie Saracco. They took great pride in the family they raised together – and especially loved the time they spent with their grandchildren.

Richard, a dedicated Christian, was a C.P.A. for S.D. Myers in Tallmadge, Ohio, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer. He was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that passion grew into a family tradition. He died a little when they lost to the Cowboys and the Packers, but he truly lived when they won their six, sweet Super Bowls.

Rosalie survives him at home. In addition, he leaves behind two daughters and two sons: Amy Pouliot and her husband, John, of Hudson, OH; Andrea Pouliot and her husband, Tony, of Canfield; Richard R. Heddleston III and his wife, Sarah, of Calcutta; and Nathan Heddleston and his wife, Jenna, of Alliance.

There are nine grandchildren: Johnny, Ike, Jael, Ellie, Isaiah, Tirzah, Kalle, Nadia, and Keaton, several of whom followed in his Bobcat paw prints to OU. Another grandson, Noah Pouliot, preceded him in death, along with his beloved dog, Nina. However, his cat, Selah, is currently available to a good Christian home.

A funeral service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for lunch and a continued time of fellowship immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
