Obituary for Richard T. Wright

Richard T. Wright, 62

EAST LIVERPOOL – Richard T. Wright, of East Liverpool, passed away suddenly Thursday morning, January 20, 2022, at his home. He was 62.

Born in East Liverpool, May 29, 1959, a son of the late Charles E. Wright, Jr. and Olive Randolph Wright. A member of the Carrollton High School Class of 1977, for over 40 years he worked for the Newell Company at Homer Laughlin China where he was a manager. A member of the House of Prayer, he was active with the church’s music ministry. Richard had been a coach and volunteer in the area for many years, but nothing compared to his dedication he had for his family, especially being involved in the lives of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Boley Wright, whom he married November 3, 1979, as well as his children, a daughter, Jennifer Steele and her husband, Rick, and a son, Jeffrey Wright and his wife, Brooke, all of East Liverpool. He will be sadly missed by his four grandchildren, Ayden Wright, Mya Wright, Camden Wright and Makenzie Steele.

He is also survived by two sisters, Melanie Griffith (William), and Kimberly Fowler (Jim), and a brother, Charles E. Wright, III (Denae).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharlene McFadden.

Pastors Bob and Kim Gadd will conduct a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the House of Prayer for continued fellowship.
