Obituary for Ronald C. Rohrbaugh

Ronald C. Rohrbaugh, 85

SALEM, OH - Ronald Curtis Rohrbaugh, formerly of Columbiana-Lisbon Road, passed away Monday morning, November 7th, 2022, at Blossom Nursing Center in Salem. He was 85.

Born in Wellsville, September 27, 1937, he was a son of the late Genevieve Rohrbaugh Cunningham and Francis Grimm. A member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, he worked at Crucible Steel Company until 1982. He then moved to California and worked as an instrument control tech for Southern California Edison at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Naval Reserves where he was awarded permanent Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 258 and enjoyed bowling, skeet shooting, boating and the Pacific Ocean.

There is one daughter, Kelly Rohrbaugh of Columbiana, along with four sons, Ronald Rohrbaugh II and his wife, Andrea, of East Liverpool, Mark Rohrbaugh and his wife, Lyz, of California, Kirk Rohrbaugh of East Liverpool, and Erik Rohrbaugh and his wife, Janet, of Lisbon. There are 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include four sisters, Mary Hogue, Gaynell Tafini, Barbara Hargreaves, and Mary Jane Fox.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Connelly Rohrbaugh, on May 10th, 2021. The couple married June 8, 1957. He was also preceded by a grandson Benjamin, and four brothers, Ace Cunningham, David Cunningham, Buddy Cunningham and Tom Grimm, as well as a beloved uncle, Frank Rohrbaugh.

A private memorial service will be conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide military honors.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
