ROSE V. BLACK, 81

EAST LIVERPOOL – Rose V. Lane Black, 81, who resided on Maple Drive in East Liverpool, passed away at Lifeline Hospital in Steubenville at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

A daughter of the late Street Lane and Rosella “Rosa” Young Lane Fleming, she was born in Beaver, PA on January 15, 1935. She had spent most of her life in this area.

Rose had been the owner of Kukura Auto Seat Cover Company from 1959-89, and later worked as a records clerk at the Counseling Center in Lisbon. She belonged to the VFW Post #5945 Ladies Auxiliary.

On April 21, 1960, she married John A. Black, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1985.

She is survived by a sister, Edith S. Manley of Calcutta, as well as several nieces and nephews: Sandy Cochran (Jack), Jerry Ann Cusick (Harlan), Mary Margaret Milhorn (Robert), Steve Lane (Michelle), John Lane (Patty), Mark Lane (Marilou), Jesse Fleming (Janette), Mary Ann Kimmel, James Manley, Jr., Daniel Manley (Maria), Cindy McBride (Robert), Douglas Manley, Michael Frontz (Julie), Terri Mallone, and special great-nephew, Casey Manley. There are two sisters-in-law: Margaret Lane and Betty Thornberry-Frank.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Rose was also preceded in death by her step-father, Robert Fleming, along with her brother and sisters: Jean C. Fleming, Delores J. Frontz and Rev. Harry J. Lane, as well as her brother-in-law James Manley, and a niece Robin Fleming.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday, where the family will be present from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 pm Saturday, with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Rose will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the cemetery service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
