Obituary for Roxanna Parsons
Roxanna Parsons, 86
EAST LIVERPOOL – Roxanna Parsons, of Calcutta, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021 at home. She was 86.
Born in East Liverpool, November 21, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Ross H. and Sara Merle Bird Thompson. A resident of this area all her life, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1952 where she was a majorette. She enjoyed reading in her spare time and was a member of the East Liverpool Assembly #71 Social Order of the Beauceant and the Crystal Chapter 18 Order of the Eastern Star, as well as the Jayceette’s at one time. For many years, Roxanna worked as a Librarian’s Aide at North Elementary. She also worked at Kye’s Foster Care in East Palestine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Parsons. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dani Lee Parsons, a brother, Richard “Dick” Thompson, a son-in-law, Dr. Jefferson Katims, a daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Stevenson, and her longtime companion of 25 years Anthony Gulutz.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: a daughter, Starr Lynn Parsons (Mark Stadler) of Palmetto, Florida, and three sons, John R. “Rob” Parsons (Melissa Reed) of East Liverpool, Howard E. Parsons (Bonnie Parsons) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Kris A. Parsons (Angela Comfort) of East Liverpool.
There are nine grandchildren: Brandon Parsons, Jenna Parsons, Ashlee Parsons, Jonathan Parsons, Lindsay Parsons, Danny Parsons, Cody Parsons, Sidney Parsons, and Tara Katims; along with three great-grandchildren: Adyson, Colton and Annabelle Parsons.
Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit three hours prior to the service. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
The family would like to thank nurse Amy and aide Tressa from Southern Care Hospice for their wonderful care.
