Obituary for Russ D. McGee

Russ Derek McGee, 48

Milford, OH—Russ Derek McGee of Milford, Ohio, formally of East Liverpool, passed away suddenly Saturday, June 13th 2020. He was 48.

Born in Lakeland, Florida, October 6th, 1971, he was the second of two sons of Anne Foxworth McGee and Stephen Larry McGee Sr. of East Liverpool. He was raised in the First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool where he was active in the choir and youth group. A member of the East Liverpool Christian School class of 1989, he continued his education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and later earned his degree in Communications from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. He was working as a Patient Care Consultant with TATA Consultancy Services and was a licensed life and health insurance agent.

Russ was passionate about THEATER!! He was a member of many community productions in Kentucky and Ohio. He recently had been associated with Queen City Productions in Cincinnati. A few of his favorite productions and roles were “The Captain” in Titanic the Musical, “Beadle Bamford” in Sweeney Todd and “The Baker” in Into the Woods.

In addition to his parents, Russ is survived by his brother, Steve McGee and his wife, Lark, of Maryville, Tennessee. He also leaves a niece, Rainy McGee, as well as three nephews, Brendan, Wyatt and Evan McGee. In Florida, he is survived by his aunt, Sylvia Barfield and his aunt, Pam Foxworth and uncle, Edwin Foxworth as well as four cousins.

Friends may visit Sunday, June 21st, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Immediately following the visitation, friends and family will gather at the McGee family home at 49235 N. Meadowbrook Cir., East Liverpool, for a continued time of remembrance.

Pastor Stephen J. Knisely of the First United Methodist Church will conduct a private family service in compliance with Ohio regulations regarding the COVID-19 virus.
