Obituary for Ruth Bulmer

East Liverpool, Ohio- Ruth M. Elliott Bulmer, 91, of State Route 267 passed away Friday, November 18th, 2022 at 9:55 a.m. at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Born February 19th, 1931 in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles Monroe and Etheleen Fryett Elliott. A lifetime area resident, with the exception of 13 years in California. At one time Ruth was the “popcorn girl” at the former Ceramic Theater in downtown East Liverpool. She then became the secretary/bookkeeper at the former ACME TV/Radio Company. After meeting her future husband, she then became the employed with the family business, Bulmer Television Service. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1949 and attended the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene. When she was younger, she helped with the local Girl Scouts Troop.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Louis M. Bulmer, whom she married November 18th, 1951, on November 5th, 2009. She leaves behind one daughter, Deborah D. Bulmer of East Liverpool, Ohio.

In addition, she leaves behind one sister, Jeanette Lawson of Calcutta, Ohio; and one brother, Kenneth W. “Bill” Elliott of East Liverpool, Ohio.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nannette Elliott, Winifred Dailey and Suzanne Smith; and one brother, Charles D. Elliott.

A graveside service will be planned at a later date. The Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio is in charge of all local arrangements.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
