Obituary for Ruth Naomi Wynn

Ruth Naomi Wynn, 99

EAST LIVERPOOL – Ruth Naomi Keller Wynn, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday evening, April 17, 2021 at the Fox Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family. She was 99.

Born in East Liverpool, August 28, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Charlotte Orr Keller. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1939, she owned and operated Ruth Wynn’s Beauty Salon in the Little Building at downtown East Liverpool and had been a licensed beautician since 1938. Following her retirement, she continued to work part-time with her daughter at Charlotte’s Salon of Beauty for several years. Ruth was a life member of the 1st Church of Christ (Disciples) where she was a deaconess at one time. She was active in her retirement and was associated with the East Liverpool Area Seniors, 30 + 30, and the Goldenaires where she held virtually every office in each organization. She was also a member of Red Hats Society and was an avid card player and enjoyed playing in the UCIC card club. She enjoyed playing bingo where her great-grandson Jonny Paugh was the Master of Ceremonies at Grandma’s Basement Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Wynn, on March 26, 1997. The couple married November 30, 1940. For many years, Ruth and Chuck spent time at their Guilford Lake home and enjoyed entertaining many friends and family there.

Above all things in life was the love Ruth had for her family. She leaves two daughters, Charlotte V. Fullerton of East Liverpool, and Suzanne R. Andrews and her husband, Thomas, of Aliquippa, and a son, Gary L. Wynn and his wife, Karen, of Lexington, South Carolina. There are six grandchildren: Julie Brereton (Denny), Gregory Fullerton (Sonya), Christina Paugh (Jim), Michelle Hall (George), Danielle Marsh (Roy), and Ronald Wynn (Rachel), 15 great-grandchildren: Nathan Brereton (fiancée Katie), Emily (Isaac) and Meghan Brereton; Corey Miles (Cheyenne); Dustin, Shawn, Tyler (Angie), Ashley (Mitch) and Teryn Fullerton; Jonathan Paugh (Laura) and Amanda Skrinjorich (Joey); Hayley Collins (fiancé Tyler) and Chad Collins; Abby and Andrew Highberger; and ten great-great-grandchildren: Braedyn Brereton, Jaxon Brereton, Jaydon Quimby, Maesin Fullerton, Jorian Fullerton, Miyen Fullerton, Leila Jones, Jonny Paugh, Maddy Paugh, and JT Skrinjorich.

Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Terry Fullerton, a sister, Helen Clark, and four brothers, Frank Keller, Robert Keller, John “Jack” Keller, and Edward Keller.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 8 p.m. Rev. Willard Chuck Adkins will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
