Marlene Tolley Minor, 83
NEWELL – Sandra Marlene Jividen Tolley Minor, lifetime area resident, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Allegheny General Hospital. She was 83.
Born in Newell, August 17, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Roy L. and Bertie Mae Smith Jividen. For many years, she was the owner and operator of the former Marlene’s Beauty Shop in Newell and also worked as an instructor at A & H Beauty School in East Liverpool. Marlene was strong in her faith; she was raised in the Newell Church of the Nazarene and later attended the Glendale Church of the Nazarene in Newell.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Tolley, and her second husband, Carl E. Minor. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jividen, and three brothers, Delmar (Libby) Jividen, Leonard (Jean) Jividen and Gerald (Phyllis) Jividen, along with a nephew, Bud Jividen.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Beverly and Jerry Enochs, Cindy Jividen, Jan Gardill, David A. and Betsy Jividen, Cathy Matthews, Debbie Perkins, Stephanie Smith, Pamela Lavine, Scott Jividen and Starlene Jividen.
Rev. Tim Bess will conduct a private service at Locust Hill Cemetery. The Dawson Funeral Home conducted arrangements.
