Obituary for Sarah A. Miller (Utt)

Sarah Ann Utt Miller, 91

Sarah Ann Utt Miller, homemaker, from New Manchester, West Virginia passed from this life on Sunday evening, November 14th.

Sarah was 91 years old and was one of eight children born to the late John and Inez Utt, formerly from Reader, West Virginia. All seven children are now deceased. She was born on September 17, 1930, in Pine Grove, West Virginia in Wetzel County. She had resided at Reader, Weirton and New Manchester. She attended Reader High School.

She was a faithful member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester. She became a Christian on July 14, 1944, at Barker, West Virginia. She was baptized in Fishing Creek. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, quilting and reading books. She also enjoyed Pirate baseball and Steeler football. Most of all, she loved being with her family. Her favorite color is pink. Many attending her funeral service will be wearing a touch of pink in her memory.

On August 4, 1947, she was married to Dormand Eugene Miller in Russell, Kentucky. They were married for 68 years. He preceded her in death along with one daughter, Mary.

Left to cherish her memories are her five children: Verneila Ann Carroll and husband Gary of Wellsville, Ohio, Ronald Miller and wife Sandy of Steubenville, Ohio, William Miller and wife Kita of Brookston, Indiana, Judith Kline and husband Tony of Monticello, Indiana, and Claudette Miller of New Cumberland, West Virginia. Along with the five children, there are 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Evangelist Rico Brown will conduct a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be at Milburn Cemetery in Reader, West Virginia.

The family would like to thank the staff at Crossroads and Calcutta Health Care for the loving care they provided.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.
