Shirley A. Lawrence, 85
MEDINA, OH – Shirley A. Lawrence, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday morning, March 18, 2023, at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina, Ohio, she was 85.
Born in East Liverpool, August 16, 1937, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Elnora Craven Schneider. She attended Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and worked at Westgate School while her children were in school. Along with her husband, she managed apartment complexes in Broadview Heights and later Columbia, South Carolina. She was also active in the East Liverpool Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary where she served as an officer for many years.
Above all things in life, she was a homemaker and raised her five children. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Lawrence, Sr in 2010. The couple married April 14, 1956. She was also preceded by a son, James Lonnie Lawrence, Jr and brother James Schneider.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. Hawkins of Texas, and Kathy L. Regal and her husband, Rick, of Macedonia, Ohio, along with two sons, Timothy Lawrence and his wife, Elizabeth, of Richfield, and Steven Lawrence of Cleveland, Ohio, sister Betty Bocker of Phoenix Arizona, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
