Obituary for Shirley Ellen Redmond (Morgan)

Rogers, Ohio- Shirley E. Redmond, 87, of Carmel Achor Road passed away Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at 2:04 p.m. at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Born February 28th, 1935, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Ella A. Morgan. A lifetime area resident, she was retired from the Beaver Local School System as a bus driver after 25 years of service.

A member of the Fredericktown Christian Church, at one time she was very active with the Quaker Valley Rangers 4H Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Redmond, Sr., whom she married December 25th, 1952, on June 5th, 2018.

Survivors include two sons, James C. Redmond, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Florida, and Timothy W. Redmond and his wife, Terri of Lisbon, Ohio.

There are eight grandchildren: Floyd Redmond, Paul Redmond, Josh Redmond, Jessica Redmond, Zachary Redmond, Ethan Redmond, Saddie Layman, and Jamie Redmond; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition, she leaves behind one sister, Doris Borrelli and one brother, Frank Morgan.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Floyd Craig Redmond; one great-grandson, Killian Redmond; two brothers, Ralph Morgan and Clifford Morgan; and Louis Morgan who raised her from childhood.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. A private family service will be held with Pastor Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in East Carmel Cemetery.

The family requests contributions be made to the Negley Volunteer Fire Department in Shirley’s memory.
