Obituary for Jean Beck

East Liverpool, Ohio- T. “Jean “ Coil Beck, 80, of Armstrong Lane passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 6:35 a.m. at her residence following a brief illness.

Born March 28, 1940 in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph “Red” and Leona Campbell Halstead.

A lifetime area resident, she retired from WalMart in 2006. Before that she worked for several area nursing homes and Catholic Charities.

She was a member of the Church of God and was an avid bowler and loved to sew.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon L. Coil, whom she married June 3, 1957, on March 11, 2008.

Survivors include her husband Donald R. Beck of East Liverpool, Ohio; one daughter, Sandra Landfried of East Liverpool, Ohio; and one son, Sam L. Coil of East Liverpool, Ohio.

There are five grandchildren, Johnnie Landfried, Jason Landfried and his wife, Danielle, Jeremie Landfried, Kristina Dennis and her husband, Mark and Samuel Coil, Jr.; and ten great-grandchildren, Robbie Landfried, Landon Landfried, Airiana Landfried, Jaylea Landfried, Braedon Landfried, Trevor Landfried, Eli Landfried, Benjamin Landfried, Koletyn Landfried and
Paislee Dennis.

In addition, she leaves behind one sister, Sherrie Hopwood of Hookstown, Pennsylvania.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God in East Liverpool, Ohio. Bishop Benjamin Crouch and Pastor James Massie of the church will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

The Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio is in charge of all local arrangements.

Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, everyone attending the visitation and service will be required to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
