Obituary for Thomas Albert Mackey

Thomas A. Mackey, 82

EAST LIVERPOOL – Thomas A. Mackey of East Liverpool, passed to be with his Lord on April 26, 2023, with his wife Barbara (Webber) at his side. This would be their 60th Anniversary year together, having been high school sweethearts, Tom was just two days shy of his 83rd birthday. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ruth (Price) Mackey and his brother Gary Mackey.

The first of his family to graduate college, Tom went on to a distinguished career for over 35 years with JC Penney in New York City and later Plano, Texas where he worked as an executive, managing inventory for the company’s catalog division.

He was a loving father to three boys and loved being a Grandad as well. Active in youth sports throughout his life, Tom coached boys soccer and little league, and also enjoyed umpiring and refereeing youth games as well. His family fondly remembers camping trips and wonderful vacation trips throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by three sons: Bruce and Debbie (Wells); Keith and Gail (Reidler); and Scot and Suzanne (Fuller), along with three granddaughters: Lydia, Abigail, and Courtenay; as well as two nephews, David and Michael Mackey.

Rev’d. Steven McKeown officiated a private family funeral on May 6th at Riverview Cemetery.
