Obituary for Trevor Jerrel Hamlett

Trevor Jerrel Hamlett, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 28, 2017.

He was born in New York on February 28, 1980, a son of Helen Hamlett of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and the late Jerrel Hamlett. Trevor was a 1998 graduate of Admiral King High School.

Trevor loved playing pool, bowling and having cookouts with friends and family. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, and he was known for letting off an amazing show for the entire city to enjoy. He had a laugh that will remain forever in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his Soulmate and “Sure Thing”, Afton Parson and their daughter, Aliyah Parson, of East Liverpool. Additional survivors include his brothers, Nathaniel Freeman of Cleveland, and Theron Nelson of Lorain, Ohio; and his sister, Natalie (Kevin) Hubbard, also of Cleveland, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Trevor was also preceded in death by a sister, Erica Lewis.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 6 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Avenue, Lorain, Ohio, with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Avon, Ohio. A luncheon will be served at the Knights of St. John Hall, 1620 Kansas Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052.

An additional visitation will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, January 8 from 5 to 7 p.m., where a brief memorial service will take place at 7. Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a continued time of remembrance of Trevor’s life.
