Obituary for Virginia Rae Johnson (Keenan)
COLUMBIANA, OHIO – Virginia R. “Gin” Johnson, 83, of East Liverpool passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana.
Virginia was born in East Liverpool on November 7, 1936 a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Edna (Pearson) Keenan. She worked at Potters Lumber Company. Gin loved her family dearly and always looked after them. She was faithful to her friends and had a contagious smile.
Preceding Virginia in death were her husband, whom she married April 24, 1959, Richard D. Johnson; infant son Daniel R. Johnson and sister Sandra Fulmer.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters Laura Rae Doan of Davie, FL and Helen L. Cunningham and her companion Bruce Gabbert of Lisbon; four grandsons Daniel Doan of Davie, FL, David Doan of Davie, FL, Matthew E. Cunningham of East Liverpool and airman Zachary Cunningham of East Liverpool; brother Frank Keenan and his wife Catherine of East Liverpool and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday where the family will be present from 3 to 7 p.m. Pastor Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service Friday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In compliance with Ohio state regulations with concerns of the COVID-19 virus masks must be worn at all times in the funeral home.
