Virginia Irene Shultz, 88

NEGLEY - Virginia Irene Shultz, born at home in Wellsville on November 5, 1927, passed away surrounded by her family at 10:53 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Covington Skilled Nursing in East Palestine. She had most recently resided on Pancake-Clarkson Road in Negley.

A daughter of the late Sam and Yolanda Buracchio Monte, she was raised in the area and was a 1945 graduate of Wellsville High School.

Upon her marriage to Robert Shultz in 1947, she became a loving and devoted homemaker. He survives her at home.

In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by three sons: Gregory Shultz and his wife, Barbara, of Brentwood, CA, Lance Shultz and his wife, Dava, of East Liverpool, and Louie Lombardi and his wife Dawn, of San Jose, CA. Virginia was preceded in death in 1955 by a daughter, Gail Lynn Shultz.

There are two grandchildren, Olivia Shultz of East Liverpool, and Harrison Shultz, who is currently serving with the U.S. Air Force in Shreveport, LA.

A sister, Jean Anne Monte, of Anaheim, California survives, as well as three brothers, Jimmy Monte of Wellsville, Paul Monte of Negley and Mike Monte of Wellsville.

In addition to her parents and daughter, Virginia was preceded in death by another sister, Mary Jo Lombardi, and by four brothers: Ralph Monte, John Monte, Stephen Monte and Sam Monte.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will take place at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
