Obituary for Wanda Scott-Martin

WANDA SCOTT-MARTIN, 86

ALLIANCE – A former East Liverpool resident, Wanda Scott-Martin, passed away with her loving sisters by her side while at Alliance Hospital Community Care Center, at 9 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 following a brief illness. She was 86.

Wanda was a daughter to the late Omer and Ruth Bailey Scott. She was born on March 1, 1932 in Smiths Ferry, PA. She was a 1948 graduate of Midland High School and attended the Gulf Coast Bible College for three years.

She worked at the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company in East Liverpool for 16 years as a telephone operator. Wanda later was a minister for several years in Gurdon, Arkansas before returning to Ohio and working at the JC Penney store in Alliance. Wanda also was a successful Chihuahua dog breeder for many years.

Wanda is survived by her three sisters, Robin Ludwig, and her husband Louis, of East Liverpool, Debbie Powell, and her husband Charles, of East Liverpool, and Karen Shaffalo of Rogers, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, where the family will be present from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Reverend Willard Chuck Adkins will officiate at a funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
